Horrible Hilly Hundreds
Once voted "Sufferfest of the Year" by the Madison newspaper The Isthmus, "The Toughest One-Day Challenge Ride in the Midwest", Horribly Hilly is a 100k, 150k or 200k bike ride through the Driftless region of Wisconsin. Due to growing popularity, registration to Horribly Hilly is decided on an annual lottery system. The day is finished off with high quality local food and beer. This is a "must do" event for any intense bikers in the Wisconsin area.

Her Madison Half Marathon & 5K is an all encompassing race weekend retreat. You have a choice of entering for just the race or the whole weekend experience, which includes a cocktail party, yoga, a Saturday morning run with Endurance House, and a post race party. Trample the Trails takes you off the monotonous road and puts you in some of the best Madison area parks. These are low-pressure trail races for people of all ages and abilities. These races are an easy, fun way to get introduced to trail running. Pheasant Branch Conservancy is 16 minutes northwest of the capital on the other side of Lake Mendota. The Ironman triathlon consisting of a 2.4-mile swim, 112-mile bike and 26.2-mile run, which take place through out the world. The Wisconsin Ironman begins with the swim in Lake Monona in downtown Madison. The bike course runs 16 miles out of town and then completes two 40 mile loops in in rural Dane County. The run course will work it's way through downtown Madison, the University of Wisconsin campus, Camp Randal, State Street, and the path alongside lake Mendota.

The Madison Marathon and Half Marathon take place on November 8th. The full marathon course starts at the Wisconsin Capitol, runs through downtown Madison, the University of Wisconsin arboretum, the University of Wisconsin campus, Maple Bluff, Warner park, and finishes back at the Wisconsin Capitol.
